It turns out today is lotion making day at bodylish. Our own supply of deliciously soothing freshly handmade face lotion has been dwindling to dangerously low levels, we’re experiencing an ice storm … and it’s JANUARY. Enough said.
Making lotion is an extremely satisfying art, and the licking the bowl equivalent in fresh bodycare is a HUGE bonus. A bonus my body needs. Making fresh lotion is a similar process to making mayonnaise, with the added complexity of warmed oils. For all of you fresh mayonnaise fanatics out there like myself, you’ll understand what I’m talking about … combining oil and water is hard enough, let alone adding the variable of a quickly cooling/hardening oil. But it is exciting … and what an amazing outcome!
Anyway, we deftly combined the waters and oils in the honed bodylish recipe and ended the adventure with a super luxurious face cream. We proceeded to cover ourselves with the cream. Happy, happy day. My skin is thanking me and we now have a fresh batch ofFresh Face Cream in inventory.
Treat your body (especially your sweet face) well!
This bomb says it all. No need for words. It is made to gently caress and moisture kiss every body, with a combination of honey, avocado oil and sandalwood powder. Prepare to be loved from head to toe and to leave the bath smelling good and feeling silky. This bomb will posses your heart.
Dry Ingredients:Sift dry ingredients in large bowl and set aside.
4 cups baking Soda
2 cups citric acid
2 cups arrowroot powder (corn starch will work as well)
¼ cup honey powder (arrowroot powder can be substituted for the honey powder)
1 tsp. red sandalwood powder (or dry colorant)
Wet Ingredients:Mix wet ingredient in a glass jar and mix well before adding to dry ingredients.
5 Tbl. sweet almond oil (any oil can be used here, including olive oil)
5 Tbl. avocado oil (any oil can be used here, including olive oil)
3 Tbl. distilled water (for a special treat I sometime substitute a floral water such as rose water or lavender water)
1 tsp. borax
1 tsp. EO blend (we use a bodylish blend of sandalwood, rosewood, ylang ylang, and patchouli)
Directions: Slowly drizzle wet ingredients into dry ingredients while constantly mixing. Try not to let it fizz up too much. When mix is slightly sticky and dry, gently push into mold filling each half then pressing together. Holding one end of the mold in the palm of your hand, slightly tap the mold to release the bomb. Repeat on other side. Place on cookie sheet and let cure for a few hours or overnight.
Today is the big day. It is the relaunch of bodylish.com into a whole new way of doing business. Our little company is growing up fast! We are so proud. In honor of this we have shot our inaugural video, I’ll be making the bodylish favorite … the I (heart) You Bath Bomb. (Aww … how sweet). Jay (my chief technical officer and partner in all things bodylishious) will be behind the camera and I will be front and center.
In some ways I’m nervous about the first video and I wonder what I’m going to say and how it will look … in other ways I don’t think I’m nervous enough. This seems to be my way about the world, I jump in first and figure it out as I go (it’s worked for me for this long). Don’t tell me if it looks silly, I only want the good news.
Because you care enough to be here reading this, and because I am willing to divulge my bodylish life to all of my closest friends (and fans) let’s meet here, at bodylish.com and watch as life unfolds. I promise to share the good and the bad, the fun times and the rough … I plan to provide tips and recipes, resources and links and all things that make life a little better in the living.
Here at bodylish, we believe in savoring every moment. You can start by taking a bath.
You enter the tub full of goodness- the encompassing warmth; aromas; soothing oils; tickling fizz...and it brings you to a completely rendered-useless lala-land state. And that's just the application of bath bomb phase! When you exit the tub you just feel different...de-stressed and AMAZING! Your skin feels and smells like it's been conditioned by a day long treatment at a world renowned spa!
Bodylish bath bombs are a gift from the soap gods! I can't wait to try the new salt scrub bars!!! They sound out of this world!"

"Dear Color Wheel:
I recently received a gift from my husband. It was a 'Bodylish' shampoo bar from your collection of hand made beauty products. Let me say that I love it! My hair has never been softer, as tangle free, and clean feeling before! Please don't stop carrying them.
Every one needs to know!"~ Christine Weihe

Bravo Bodylish! You make products the way they should be made:
healthy, simple and effective.......It makes no sense to add
ingredients that just make a product look more "appealing" yet have no real benefit......Keep up the good work! --

My kids LOVED their Bath Bombs on a stick! In fact, my 4 year old broke down when the thing dissolved fully, kept rubbing his smooth skin after his bath, and then kept asking if he could, " go back into the bathroom and sniff the smell of the bath bomb"
Then he went on to sniff my daughter's bath bomb (she, by the way, "saved" her's once she say how valuable it was to him during his tub) saying, " Mom, it smells so good I want to POP it in my mouth!"
